Southern Gothic duo, LOVESUCKER, will be releasing a traditional, 1950's style EP that was recorded as a live room session with no headphones, no overdubs, no auto-tune or any artificial enhancements. Completely recorded in one take, the album, The Harlot's Jubilee, is a pure, unfiltered work of dark art that will release on February 16, 2016.
Veteran producer, Jamie Hoover, whose works include The Spongetones, Antiseen, Wednesday 13, among countless others over a 30-year career brought his magic to this epic recording effort. LOVESUCKER, made up of Crystal Crosby and Zoltan Von Bury, has fulfilled their desire of capturing the essence of their live performance. The combination of Crosby’s strong, edgy female voice and Von Bury’s guitar chops is the signature sound of LOVESUCKER’s Southern Gothic Blues meets Indie Rock.
The Harlot's Jubilee was as much raw in the writings as it was in the studio. Some gut level truths many can know but seldom admit. That long walk home from head to heart..."Wish You Could" is an alleged account of doing the right thing when you damn sure don't want to.
'We Don't Lay Down' is a war you hand over to the gods when you're fighting a losing battle in love and your allies become your adversaries.
"If You Want Love" was an anthem for the Lover, the Fighter, and the Escape Artist in us all, and the mysterious. "Fallen" is simply for a friend.
“Wish You Could” will be LOVESUCKER's first single and video release from The Harlot's Julbilee.
